University of Macedonia Showcases BAUHAUS4EU Initiatives at the Aristotle Innovation Forum 2026

As part of its participation in the Aristotle Innovation Forum 2026, the University of Macedonia successfully organized the BAUHAUS4EU Regional Workshop entitled “Regional Innovation Ecosystems: Universities and Society in Collaboration” on 22 May 2026 at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre.

The workshop was held within the framework of the BAUHAUS4EU European University Alliance and focused on the role of universities in promoting innovation, sustainability and regional development through collaboration with local communities, public authorities, businesses and civil society organizations.

Discussions explored the contribution of Regional Living Labs to participatory innovation and community engagement, as well as innovative educational approaches developed within the Alliance, including interdisciplinary learning, challenge-based education, Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs), international mobility opportunities and hackathons.

Particular attention was given to the proposed “BAUHAUS4EU Career Lab Hackathon: Designing the Future of Employability”, an initiative aimed at strengthening employability skills, interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative approaches to the future of work.

On the same day, the University of Macedonia also hosted the event “Innovative Learning Formats and the European University of the Future: The BAUHAUS4EU Experience through Student-Led Courses”. The session introduced participants to Student-Led Courses (SLCs), highlighting their contribution to active student participation, creativity, intercultural dialogue and the development of transversal skills within the European University environment.

Both events attracted strong interest from members of the academic community, students and representatives of the wider innovation ecosystem, fostering dialogue on the future of higher education, innovation and European university cooperation.
