This workshop introduced the innovative educational activities that the University of Bergamo will launch within BAUHAUS4EU during the 2026/2027 academic year, including Student-led Courses, European BAUHAUS Courses, micro-credentials, and the University’s first Regional Living Lab. This laboratory will center around the Montelungo-Colleoni urban regeneration project, developed in close collaboration with the Lombardy Region, the Municipality of Bergamo, and Near Sgr. The Regional Living Lab will involve students, faculty, and local stakeholders in an interdisciplinary learning journey, contributing to the development of a new university and urban district for the city of Bergamo.
The workshop was divided into two complementary sessions. During the plenary session, the University introduced BAUHAUS4EU’s educational vision, the COM-UNI Bergamo Città Universitaria initiative, the Montelungo-Colleoni development project, and the pedagogical framework of the Regional Living Lab.
The second half of the morning was dedicated to an interactive co-design workshop. Participants were divided into three thematic working groups dedicated to Technology & Innovation, Economic Development, and Culture & Heritage. The discussions focused on territorial challenges that BAUHAUS4EU’s innovative educational activities should address, as well as the role that regional stakeholders themselves can play as partners through guest lecturers, mentoring, case studies, field activities, and international collaboration.
The ideas and recommendations emerging from the workshop will inform the development of BAUHAUS4EU activities at the University of Bergamo over the coming academic year. More broadly, they will contribute to the Alliance’s shared objective of developing challenge-based educational experiences that connect universities and territories while strengthening collaboration across Europe.
