BAUHAUS4EU Staff Week in Lyon: Strengthening Regional Cooperation

The BAUHAUS4EU Alliance gathered in Lyon from 25 to 27 November 2025 for a dynamic and collaborative Staff Week hosted by Université Lumière Lyon 2. For three days, T4.2 and T4.3 teams worked on key themes such as supporting entrepreneurial pathways, collaborating at regional and interregional levels and implementing Regional Living Labs.

The highlight of the week was the Université Lumière Lyon 2’s first Regional Council, coupled to its first regional workshop. The event brought together the university community and its regional partners while aiming to strengthen the Alliance's local presence and co-develop challenge-based collaborative opportunities.

Three Days Dedicated to Strategic Themes

Throughout the week, participants worked in thematic groups focusing on key areas that shape the vision and operational framework of BAUHAUS4EU.

1. Supporting student entrepreneurship

Discussions centred on strengthening entrepreneurial education and identifying opportunities for cross-alliance collaboration.

2. Engaging at regional and interregional levels

Contributors focused on deepening cooperation with regional stakeholders and ensuring that BAUHAUS4EU remains rooted in local ecosystems. Participants discussed common challenges, expectations, and mechanisms for long-term partnership engagement.

3. Implementing Regional Living Labs

Colleagues shared practices from their respective institutions and regions, aiming to consolidate a shared model for Regional Living Labs within the Alliance.

The First Regional Council of Lyon

The major highlight of the Staff Week was the organisation of the 1st Regional Council of Lyon, coupled with the Université Lumière Lyon 2’s first regional workshop, a milestone event designed to connect the Alliance with its regional ecosystem.

The programme included:

  • A general presentation of BAUHAUS4EU and its objectives

  • A roundtable with regional partners highlighting their challenges and priorities

  • Thematic workshops focused on the co-creation of challenge-based courses and the regional partners’ expectations for collaboration

  • A plenary session emphasizing the workshop’s outcomes and identifying next steps

  • A networking moment to foster dialogue between partner institutions and local stakeholders

This Regional Council contributed to strengthening the Alliance’s territorial anchoring while reinforcing the link between European collaboration and regional impact.

Experiencing Lyon

Following these intense work sessions, the BAUHAUS4EU contributors also had the opportunity to discover Lyon with the support of the local team. They enjoyed a traditional dinner in an authentic Bouchon Lyonnais on the most Michelin-starred Street in France, at the heart of the country’s gastronomic capital and later, a guided tour of the city organised by the Lyon Tourism Office.
