On March 11, 2026, POLIS University hosted the BAUHAUS4EU regional workshop, bringing together representatives from public institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations. This event provided an important platform for identifying key regional challenges and fostering dialogue among stakeholders in support of sustainable development and innovation.

Discussions focused on several critical issues affecting urban and socio-economic development, including sustainable urban mobility, circular waste management, energy efficiency, climate resilience, and the alignment of education systems with labor market needs. Particular attention was given to the existing gap between graduates’ skills and the industry demands, as well as the need for stronger and more structured collaboration between academia and the private sector.

Building on these discussions, the thematic workshops aimed to translate identified challenges into concrete objectives, emphasizing their integration into academic curricula and research initiatives. Key proposals included the development of “Living Labs”, the creation of industry-integrated curricula, and the implementation of pilot projects in collaboration with local stakeholders.

The workshop also outlined key strategic directions, including the promotion of sustainable and climate-responsive urban development, the advancement of inclusive and future-ready societies, and the strengthening of innovation and governance processes linked to EU integration. Furthermore, the importance of long-term partnerships, applied research, and increased participation in international projects was strongly emphasized, positioning BAUHAUS4EU as a central platform for regional transformation and innovation.
