Operative Bodies

Work Packages (WPs)

Our project is divided into two phases: the Design Phase and the Implementation phase. During the Design phase, the focus lies on establishing a working mode between all participating parties and creating a stable infrastructure, preparing for the following Implementation phase.

This process is carried out by the Work Packages (WPs) of which there are eleven. Each WP has a different focus, with some topics being only relevant for either the Design or Implementation phase. Every Work Package is again divided into several Task Groups, dealing with very particular aspects of the overall Work Package goal.

WP 1 – Managing the Project and Documenting the Progress – Transversal Activities

The main objective of WP1 is to ensure sound management and monitoring of the project throughout its entire duration. This includes the technical and administrative management as well as the quality management for all the Work Packages. In addition, WP1 is dedicated to the administration of the BAUHAUS4EU internal and external impact.

WP 4 - Strategic Guidelines for BAUHAUS4EU Campus Transformation & Regional Ecosystem Support

WP4 will develop a joint guideline to evolve our 10 institutions into one sustainable, inclusive and beautifulBAUHAUS4EU campus, with a special emphasis on breaking down social barriers to inclusion, diversity and equity. This WP will also guide the setup of regional hubs and an international network to involve our regional partners and support interregional collaboration. Additionally, it will compile programmes focused on creating a nurturing environment for entrepreneurship and enhancing the employability of graduates within the Alliance.

The outcomes of this work package prepare the transformation of our joint campus in WP9 and support our regional ecosystems by enabling active participation from our regional partners in developing education and training formats in WP6, WP7, WP8, and WP9.

WP 6 - Micro-credentials: Intercultural Competencies and Future Skills for all

WP6 has the main objective of contributing to the transformation of institutions, regions, and society at large by providing easily accessible micro-credential courses to students and staff within the Alliance, as well as to associated citizens in our regions and beyond.

WP6 will therefore deploy a targeted offering that provides competencies and Future Skills to BAUHAUS4EU target groups, including students, academic and administrative staff, and regional change agents. This offering will consist of the following categories: Intercultural Competencies, Cognitive Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Self-Leadership Skills, Digital Skills and Entrepreneurial Skills.

This work package builds on the outcomes of WP3 and provides a flexible course offer to complement WP7 (target group: students and academic staff), WP8 (target group: students) and WP9 (target group: students, academic staff, regional change agents).

WP 7 - Challenged-Based Interdisciplinary European BAUHAUS Courses (EBC)

WP7 is committed in overcoming existing boundaries between disciplines and cultures by providing European BAUHAUS Courses as an educational format that opens up to new perspectives to address current challenges.
WP7 will deliver guidelines and criteria, develop the course topics with our regional partners and publish joint calls. WP7 will also support teachers and provide them with the necessary training. The results of the implemented EBCs will be prepared for dissemination and exploitation in view of course consolidation and/or possible research projects.

The implementation of this WP relies on the contribution of WP1, WP3, WP5, WP6 together with WP10 for quality assessment and WP8 and WP11 for communication, dissemination and exploitation.

WP 8 – Research-based European Joint Degree Programmes

WP8 will create a comprehensive plan for joint degreesto harmonise standards and requirements among the delivering partners. Subsequently, they will create joint degree in key fields of BAUHAUS4EU knowledge to meet the goals of the Regional Innovation Smart Specialisation Strategies (RIS3). Furthermore, WP8 will deliver joint PhD programmes and help PhD students to broaden their skills and competences in order to enhance their employability within the European research area.

The implementation of this WP relies on the contribution of WP1 and WP3 and can feed on WP5, WP6, WP7 and WP9 for additional course offerings. All tasks will be assessed for quality by WP10 and accompanied by WP11 for communication, dissemination and exploitation.

WP 9 – Campus Transformation & Regional Ecosystem Support

WP9 is responsible for the structural enhancement of our member universities, transforming their campuses into green and inclusive BAUHAUS4EU environments. Students will have opportunities to develop their ideas through calls for campus transformation. Annual calls will also be issued for establishing Regional Living Labs (RLL) as open-innovation ecosystems that promote place-based education with local communities. Each university will collaborate with regional partners to create experimental spaces and generate ideas for revitalizing rural or urban areas, addressing regional needs to foster an entrepreneurial-friendly environment and enhance graduate employability.

This work package builds on WP4's outcomes and receives support from WP1 and WP5, particularly in engaging regional stakeholders. It can align with courses from WP6 and WP7 and be integrated into degree programmes in WP8. All tasks will be overseen by WP10 for quality assessment, with WP11 supporting communication, dissemination, and exploitation.

WP 10 – Quality Assurance System – Transversal Activities

WP10 will measure, compare and analyse quality assurance accreditation systems of the participating universities and develop joint procedures (surveys, data collection and processing, templates). WP10 will also focus on the verification and validation of the common system.

WP 11 – Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation – Transversal Activities

WP11objective is to ensure effective and widespread communication, focusing on internal communication within the whole university community and external communication with stakeholders (through traditional and new media). WP11 will also focus on the exploitation of the project in the long run.
