Heritage in Action: Revive and Thrive 2BG – Sofia, May 16-20, 2025 – BIP for students and staff
Join us in Sofia – Bulgaria’s capital founded thousands of years ago, for an innovative event blending cultural heritage and sports. Students and staff will explore new ways to integrate physical activity with historic sites, featuring on:
Educational sessions and lectures
“Architectural Heritage and Public Spaces: Opportunities for Sports Activity”,
“Traditional Sports and Games in a Historical Context” – revival of historical sports practices (e.g. folk outdoor games).
“Integration of modern sports facilities in a cultural and historical environment” – how to design without disturbing the architectural spirit of the place.
Practical workshops
Architectural design workshop: designing concepts for creating sports or recreational spaces in historic areas, adapting old fortresses, squares or parks.
Graffiti or mural workshop: creating street art inspired by sports themes and the cultural heritage of the city. Colleagues who are interested can participate with thematic lectures.
Students will be included in the workshops.
A city Marathon Like No Other
Experience the thrill of the UACEG Marathon, running through Sofia’s historic streets. Cross iconic landmarks and monuments as you race to the finish line, where you’ll earn a well-deserved finisher’s medal!
