January 13

Free

On Monday, January 13, 2025, the University of Economics in Katowice hosted an inauguration for the BAUHAUS4EU Alliance project. A «European University for Resilient, Sustainable, Inclusive and Beautiful Regions», the BAUHAUS4EU Alliance brings together 10 universities from across Europe and includes associated partners from around the world.

Over the next four years, the BAUHAUS4EU Alliance will work towards establishing a shared European campus, offering integrated educational and research programs, and enabling seamless mobility for its 124,000+ students and 10,000+ staff.

Coordinated by Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, the Alliance has been awarded €14.4 million in funding as part of the Erasmus+ 2024 ‘European Universities’ call. This financial support will enable synergies in order to meet the challenges of internationalising curricula, inclusion, sustainability, educational innovation, employability and bringing territories closer together.

The inauguration was attended by rectors, vice-rectors, chancellors, and project team members from Alliance member universities in Germany, Portugal, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Albania, Italy, and Sweden.

“BAUHAUS4EU – a dream that is beginning to come true. I would like to thank our partners, but my special thanks go to the Rectors – thank you for your presence,” – said the UEKAT Vice-Rector for Teaching and International Relations prof. dr hab. Wojciech Dyduch during the inauguration ceremony.
